Summer Academic Enrichment Program
T.E.O.Y.M (The Enrichment of Young Minds) is a free summer academic enrichment program for youth ages 10-15 which is made possible through grant funds provided by DHR District Four Youth Development. Spalding County Parks and Recreation has partnered with UGA Griffin Campus who hosts the program. This award winning program occurs during 5 weeks of summer from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Students have opportunity to work with certified teachers to help develop their academic, social, and leadership skills. All materials for the program are provided through grant funds and lunch is provided at no cost as well through the USDA Summer Food Program grant managed by Parks and Recreation.
To keep the fun in summer, program leaders plan affordable field trips which cost each participant no more than $10.00 weekly. Some of the featured trips have included: Fun Bowl in McDonough, Georgia Tech, Atlanta Beach, and World of Coke to name a few.
Space is limited for this very popular program and parents can pre-register their child during the month of May.
