Christmas Lights! Carols! S'mores and Santa! It's everyone's favorite time of year when we see the signs of holiday cheer!
Please plan to join us on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 when Airport Road Park will be transformed into a winter wonderland with beautiful lights displays, snow and more! Families can enjoy a free fun filled evening sure to please children of all ages.
Food will be available for purchase at the 4H tent!
Orchard Hill Park will also be decked out in Holiday lights for everyone to enjoy the entire holiday season!
Disc golf is played much like traditional golf. Instead of hitting a ball into a hole, you throw a disc into a supported metal basket. Visit the 18 hole disc golf course at Wyomia Tyus Olympic Park to enjoy a relaxing game.
Fishing at Dundee Lake Park
Fishing is an excellent way to unwind, relax and de-stress and it's an activity that the whole family can enjoy together! Dundee Lake Park offers a 28 acre fishing lake suitable for bank fishing or small, non-gas motor boats. No boat ramp is available so boats must be carried from parking area to the lake. Fishermen of all ages and skill levels can enjoy catching Bass, Catfish and Crappie. This park is open and fishing is allowed from 7am to dark.
Grab you rollerblades, bikes, and skateboards and get some practice at the Grind Skate Park! Located at City Park and features a 6 foot half pipe, several quarter pipes, bank to bank, multiple event fun box and various grinding rails.
There are a multitude of park venues with walking trails. These facilities provide a unique walking experience for leisure walkers as well as the most avid walker. With an abundance of state-of-the-art rubberized surfaced walking tracks and scenic trails to choose from, you can easily relax and enjoy a walk with nature. Named in honor of Ernest Howard Atkinson who owned the original site, Ernie’s Trail is located at Wyomia Tyus Olympic Park. The trail, with its natural beauty and area teeming with both flora and fauna, can be used for both peaceful respites and classroom settings.
Griffin-Spalding County Athletic Hall of Fame
The Griffin-Spalding Athletic Hall of Fame is located at 841 Memorial Drive, Griffin, GA 30224. Please stop by Monday-Friday between 8am and 5pm to learn about the men and women who have made a positive impact in the sports field in our community.
History at Camp Stephens
Located on the McIntosh trail, an old Native American trade route, Camp Stephens is the site of a civil war encampment and training ground. Visit this historical site to view the trenches and breastworks once used by the soldiers in training.
